Michael Goff
Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions
Mr. Michael Goff is a Senior Vice President of Prescient Technologies, LLC, a Louisiana-owned and headquartered business focused on the innovative use of technologies to solve real-world problems and foster economic development opportunities within the region. He has 14 years of experience in executive management, government relations, and law. At Prescient, Mr. Goff rejoins Prescient CEO, Bobby Savoie, who he served under as Vice President of Government Affairs at Science & Engineering Associates. At Prescient, Mr. Goff assists in business growth in Information Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, Nuclear Services, and Transportation Security, through new business development, establishment of strategic partnerships, and merger and acquisition.
As an executive manager for Apogen Technologies, he lead the establishment of Apogen Services LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary focused on a new State and Local government and commercial client base. As Apogen Services' President, Mr. Goff was responsible for all aspect of start-up and ongoing business operations. During his 3 years as President, the company emerged from a start-up to a profitable and growing business with customers that included numerous state agencies, universities and large commercial businesses.
Mr. Goff served as Vice President of Government Affairs for Science & Engineering Associates (SEA) where he led an effective government relations program that helped to attract and retain hundreds of information technology jobs to Louisiana. Mr. Goff worked closely with SEA corporate and local business leaders to successfully advocate for additional work scope and funding for important area federal projects including the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, New Orleans, and the USDA National Finance Center. Mr. Goff actively participated in new business development activities at SEA directly resulting in over $35 million in new company business. He also represented the company in key trade, political and economic development associations and charity and community events and provided legal counsel on a variety of corporate matters including establishment of policies, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, and human resource issues.
Prior to joining SEA, Mr. Goff worked for Future Tech Management Systems as a Senior Management Analyst at the Navy's Information Technology Center (ITC) in New Orleans, LA. (now the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, New Orleans) where he was responsible for monitoring proposed legislation and new statutes, regulations, and directives governing the acquisition, development, and operation of information technology. Duties included providing the ITC Director and senior management staff with analysis of impact of proposed and new statutory and regulatory changes on SITC mission and programs and guidance on incorporation of legislated changes into strategic and annual business planning as well as development of standard operating procedures to assure compliance with legislative mandates.
Mr. Goff has also been a practicing attorney since being admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 1993. As an attorney he has provided a broad range of legal services to a diverse client base, maintained a general civil practice with focus on business entity formation, contracts, business litigation, debt collection, entertainment agency, estate planning, successions and plaintiff's personal injury and personal injury defense. He has provided ethical and effective representation of hundreds of clients including pro bono legal services to underrepresented members of the community.
Mr. Goff is a member of the GNO Inc, Public Policy Committee, and service of the Insurance Task Force. He is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association, the Louisiana Technology Council, the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society and the Our Lady of the Lake Men's Club. Along with his wife, Jackie, he is the Co-Chair of "A Taste of Tammany" an annual charity fundraising event. Mr. Goff holds a B.S. in Business from Nicholls State University and a J.D. from Loyola School of Law. He is married to Jacqueline Labat Goff. The Goff's reside in Mandeville, Louisiana with their two children, Madison and Patrick.
