Diamond Data Systems, Prescient Technologies acquired by Geocent
New Orleans – Diamond Data Systems, a local leader in Information Technology (IT) services, along with Prescient Technologies, LLC an innovative aerospace and defense technology firm, have been acquired by Geocent, a Louisiana-based company. Bobby Savoie, current CEO of Prescient Technologies, LLC, will assume leadership of Diamond Data Systems, effective immediately. Diamond Data Systems is an IT and technology services company in the New Orleans region that provides a variety of technical services to clients in both the government and private sector. Diamond Data Systems, founded in 1992, currently has about 100 employees at locations in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Stennis Space Center, and Charleston, SC and the Washington, DC area. Prescient will bring to Geocent /DDS additional locations in Huntsville, AL and Corpus Christi, TX.
“Under Geocent’s guidance, Diamond Data Systems is poised to grow into a major company in the national IT industry and other technology-based fields,” says Savoie. “We will accomplish this through collaborative efforts between DDS and Prescient, whose innovative aerospace and defense specialties will compliment DDS’ strengths. Clients of both companies will immediately benefit from the expanded capabilities the merger allows. We also continue to have a long term commitment to the New Orleans region and look forward to continuing to support the economic growth of our area,” he said.
Geocent is also seeking additional acquisitions in several geographic regions and technical specialties, including Nuclear Energy, Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing and IT. “This merger is just the first step Geocent is taking to become a stronger player in a growing market,” says Mike Goff, who will lead Mergers and Acquisitions for the company. Goff believes this merger will create a growth atmosphere that could lead to the hiring of as many as 100 new professionals in the next year, primarily in Louisiana. Rick Gremillion, current and future President of Diamond Data Systems, agrees. Merging Prescient with Diamond Data Systems is our first step to developing the collaborative community we need in order to create new opportunities,” he says. By focusing on IT services, Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing support, and Nuclear Energy support services, Geocent plans to fuel its growth across the country with a particularly strong impact on the southeast Louisiana economy by partnering with both large corporations and regional small businesses. “One of our goals is to provide more opportunities for Louisiana graduates in technology – related fields. Geocent can do that by forming strategic partnerships with local universities and building a business base of excellent people with top-level jobs. As a result of this change we are actively looking for new employees at all levels. We find that one of our biggest challenges to meeting our existing growth is to find more great people to add to our team,” Gremillion says.
Geocent headquarters are in New Orleans. The company also has operations in Baton Rouge, Stennis Space Center, Charleston, SC, Huntsville, AL, Corpus Christi, TX, and Washington, D.C. For more information, please visit www.diamonddata.com
