Major James B. Haynie (Mississippi Army National Guard) addressed an audience of four thousand at the 130st NAGUS Convention in Baltimore, Maryland (September 19-22, 2008).
Major Haynie’s topic covered the role of the attack aviation in Operation Iraqi Freedom and experiences from his recent deployment as a Commander of an AH-64 Apache Troop. Major Haynie preceded speakers: General George W. Casey, Jr (United States Army Chief of Staff) and Senator John S. McCain (Republican Nominee for President).
Major Haynie was citied for heroism and bravery on several occasions while serving in Iraq, awards include the Distinguished Flying Cross, Soldiers Medal, and two Air Medal for Valor. He is a traditional Guardsman and currently serves as the Intelligence Officer for the 185th Theater Aviation Brigade (TAB).
