Diamond Data Systems, LLC (DDS) announced today that it has won a two year prime contract with the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR) Atlantic-New Orleans office, located at the University of New Orleans’ Information Technology Center.

The project will provide SPAWAR with prototype software that will incorporate Atmospheric/Geographic data into various Command and Control Systems, merging intelligence and operations into a single map-based Common Operational Picture. 

Keith Alphonso, DDS Director Federal Sector, said, “This software will provide a more comprehensive picture of key areas of interest, ultimately leading to improved decision-making, more rapid response, better asset management, and greater preservation of life.”

The collaborative web-based tool will be deployable to military and civilian systems such as ASOCC, NOP, FalconView, Google Earth, Virtual Earth, Emergency Operations Centers, Reach Back Cells, and other Mission Planning Systems.

Dave Robeson, DDS Project Manager, said, “Providing the synthesis of weather information into a Common Operational Picture is a huge step forward in supporting situational understanding.  Decision-makers will be able to quickly evaluate weather impacts related to their specific operations and adjust accordingly, resulting in greater mission success for the Warfighter.”
