This area represents our ability to ingest, process, analyze and disseminate massive amounts of unstructured and structured data to enhance the users understanding of the environment and improve situational awareness. This includes, for example, where we created a system for extracting disparate data sources to create “mash-ups” and analysis of the data to determine optimal economic impact for business locations. Data such as traffic, drive times, demographics, etc were used to determine optimal placement for shopping centers as an example. In another instance, we supported a customer that was using the ADCIRC flood model to run over 180 different scenarios each of which generated 250GB+ of data every 24 hours. Due to the size of the model data, no tool was available to visualize the data, making it difficult to use for decision making. We were able to integrate the data into an Open Source GIS system and developed specialized code that allowed the data to be visualized instantly.
