Situational Awareness is the ability to rapidly evaluate and understand the user’s current and future environment to make critical decisions and develop complex plans. This includes pulling together disparate data from numerous sources and correlating, fusing, merging and visualizing the data such that the user can rapidly assess the situation and make quick decision or plan complex missions. This may include integrating sensor data feeds and environmental data with command and control systems to provide a geospatial data analysis capability or leveraging Augmented and Virtual reality to enable immersion into a virtualized environment to support mission planning.
• Rapid evaluation and understanding of the environment: current – future – virtual
• Rapidly pull together disparate data so that you can visual allowing you to gain a better understanding of the situation: Visualization of disparate data integration – AR/VR – sensor data feeds – maps and location – computing new data on the fly – weather data (METOC).
